Pullman-Iris Four-Star Hotel Complex was constructed in 1990 in Moscow. It began its operation in 1991. The main aim of the Complex was extending accommodations to patients coming to Eye Microsurgery Inter-Industrial Scientific Technical Complex for medical treatment. Later it offered its services to tourists. Patients of Eye Microsurgery Complex had an opportunity of receiving medical services directly in the Pullman-Iris Hotel. For that purpose medical cabinets started working there.

Pullman-Iris Hotel is located in a unique building designed in the form of eye.

In the beginning of its operation (from 1991 till 1995) many people were coming to the Hotel willing to get medical check or have their operations performed at the Eye Microsurgery Complex. But later their number decreased and the Hotel's revenue declined considerably.

In May 1995 Pullman Company dealing in operating the Pullman-Iris Hotel was affiliated by Accor Group which stand ready to fulfill all obligations of Pullman behind the third parties. Accor Group owns a network of four-star hotels functioning under Sofitel trademark. It took a decision to use the trademark "Sofitel-Iris Moscow" for the former Pullman-Iris hotel.

Sofitel-Iris Hotel maintains amicable and cozy atmosphere. The Hotel's heart is the hall, where all services, which can be demanded by customers and create the Hotel's reputation all over the world, are rendered to the Hotel's clients.

The Hotel includes 195 comfortable accommodations (40 luxury apartments are among them), restaurant "Champs Elysées", cafe "Café Francais" and huge hall occupying more than 600 m2. The Hotel has a swimming pool, solarium, saunas and training center, which provide the clients with the high quality services.

The Hotel has everything one may need during a business trip. It is equipped with modern technical facilities for holding business meetings, seminars and conferences. There are 3 well-equipped conference rooms and one conference hall for 300 sitting places, audio and video facilities for simultaneous translating, business center, currency exchange bank office. Natural and legal persons can rent office premises or apartments in a separate apartment building.

There is a transport link between the Hotel and the Red Squire - microbuses are shuttling every hour making possible to get to the center of Moscow very quickly and with comfort.

From 1991 till 1997 activity of Iris Joint Venture was monitored by management team of one of the foreign co-owners of the company - Bouygues Construction company.

In that period of time the revenue of the enterprise rapidly declined as compared with earlier periods because the number of patients coming to Eye Microsurgery Complex fall down sharply and soon reached zero. Besides the number of competitive hotels moved up. In spite of such serious situation no radical measures were taken.

Several companies, which participated in setting up the Hotel, preferred to leave the business. That is why in the end of 1997 founders of the Hotel turned to Engineers Architects and Consulting Company for assistance. The parties concluded a contract for managing the enterprise's activity.

Managing Company EA&C brought about considerable changes, which turned the catastrophic situation for the better. It started monitoring cash flows of the enterprise and introduced a system of on-line control over expenditures. Restructuring carried out by EA&C led to increasing effectiveness of work of staff. The company set up normal relations with tax and other state bodies, which resulted in Iris joint venture returning its reputation of a reliable partner.

Due to high level management provided by EA&C Sofitel-Iris Hotel took the place it deserved among the leader enterprises offering hotel services in Moscow.

Sofitel-Iris Hotel gained a reputation of a very comfortable and quiet hotel where customers are met with hospitality and serviced at a first-class level.

Businessmen, famous sport teams, tourists and families stay at the hotel. They appreciate the Hotel for the cozy atmosphere and security it offers.

Big companies often hold conferences in the Hotel. Classical music concert programs are on every week. A lot of reputable clients visit them. Hi Fi and Hi End Show, where leading producers of electronic equipment exhibit their new audio and video facilities, is held four days a year. It is widely described in press. Such shows provide good advertising of the Iris Hotel services.

Beginning from the moment EA&C took over the management of the Hotel revenue of Iris Joint Venture went up as compared with results reached in 1997 and reforms implemented in the Hotel show that this gap will continue growing.
